Chief Executive Officer

The appointment of David Cronin as CEO of UL Foundation in October 2008 has brought a wealth of commercial experience to this international role. David was a senior executive and remains a founding shareholder of QUMAS, the Irish Software Company of the Year in 2006. He played a vital role in developing an international presence for QUMAS spending time on both the East & West Coast of the US and spear-heading QUMAS business development in Europe.
Most recently, he has been involved in the funding of a number of early-stage companies and remains a non-executive director of the Wild Geese Group. He is on the Advisory Board of the Bank of Ireland Early-Stage & Seed Equity Fund. David has both an undergraduate degree and post-graduate in Economics, is an Alumni of the Global Business Program, IMD International (Switzerland) and as a firm believer in life long learning has also participated in Business Development courses at Babson College, Boston. He is also a graduate of the MSc in International Business from Trinity College Dublin.
David is a member of the Irish Special Olympics Leadership Council. He is a member of the Management Development Council, a body appointed by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment to advise Government on supporting the development of world-class management skills within Irish SMEs. He has previously served as a member of the Irish Software Association Executive Council. His qualifications also include Series 7 & Series 63 licenses, having worked for several years on Wall Street as an equities trader on the NYSE.
