UL Foundation Awards €20,000 for Swim Ireland UL Students

The Foundation is pleased to announce that €20,000 will be awarded over 3 years starting in 2010 to UL students participating in Swim Ireland's High Performance Centre at UL. The bursaries will be awarded to UL swimmers based on their performance at the European Championships in 2010, the World Championships in 2011 and the Olympics in 2012. The money was raised by the UL Foundation through the University's graduate community as part of direct mail fundraising appeals.

Tierney Family Support the Development of UL’s New Enterprise Centre

The UL Foundation is very grateful for the support of the Tierney family for the new Centre for Enterprise & Innovation on campus. The new Centre will be located immediately to the north of the Robert Schumann building and the two Shannon Development buildings that form the International Business Centre.
Arts Council Donates €140,000 for Dance Archive of Ireland at UL

The University of Limerick recently announced the establishment of Ireland’s first national dance archive to be based at the Glucksman Library. The Dance Archive of Ireland will be established through seed funding of €140,000 from the Arts Council and came about through initiatives carried out by Dance Research Forum Ireland, a body set up in 2003 by Dr Catherine Foley, Director of the MA Ethnochoreology and MA Irish Traditional Dance Performance at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.
Foundation Presents Cheque for €16,000 towards Student Financial Aid Fund

At the end of 2009, the UL Foundation presented the Students' Union and Student Postgraduate Association with a shared cheque for €16,000 for the Student Financial Aid Fund.
