John and Pauline Ryan Extend MA in History of the Family

ULF Director, John Ryan, and ULF Life Trustee, Pauline Ryan, have very kindly agreed to extend their funding of the MA in the History of the Family at UL until 2013, at which point the project will be mainstreamed, thus ensuring the future sustainability of the programme.

The History of the Family project was initiated in August 2004 with the aim of making UL a centre of excellence in the area of History of the Family.  The project has been very innovative in its development, having created the first Virtual Learning Environment and online MA for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Thanks to the additional funding provided by John and Pauline Ryan, this pioneering venture highlights UL’s role as an international innovator in blending  a commitment to the past with future oriented technologies, in a previously disregarded area.  It also reflects the vision and generosity of John and Pauline Ryan in facilitating the project.
